Volodya, Rima, Anzhela, Nazeli, Mariam, Milena, Arianna, Never, David, Edvard – 6 girls, 4 boys: The eldest is 19 years old, the youngest is 1 year and 8 months old.  Despite the social difficulties and problems, the Karapetyans living in Akhuryan are not complaining: their 11th child will be born in a few months.

Trying to introduce the children one by one, the 39-year-old mother hurries to assure that no matter how difficult it is, one child is good but many children are better. Only the eldest of the children is an adult and is currently in military service.

Description: Improve the quality of life of elderly individuals aged 60 and over and persons with disabilities aged 18 and over in Artashat by providing home-based care services and activities that promote social inclusion within the community.

Caritas Austria is an international NGO implementing activities in the fields of emergency relief and rehabilitation as well as development cooperation, in countries struck by conflicts or natural disasters. The Civil Protection system in Armenia is currently mainly based on professional responders from governmental institutions. They are to a large extent on-duty firefighters and other paid staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

“Women Resource Center in Vardenis”

Project Duration: 15․01․2023- 30.04.2025

Location: RA, Gegharkunik region, Vardenis community

Beneficiaries:

  • 85 women who are:

living below the poverty line (the income is under 54,040 AMD per person monthly);

with child/children under 18;

with the status of unemployment;

single women/female headed household.

  • 50 children aged 2-7. The target are children of the women who will benefit from the project activities ensuring that women have the opportunity to dedicate time to themselves.

• Individual Support: 80 CWD (Children with disabilities) in Armenia and 70 CWD in Kosovo have received individual support to fully enjoy their right to education.

Youth centers in Lanjik, Panik and Mets Sepasar

 

Within the frameworks of the Armenian Caritas BNGO program “Improvement of educational and cultural conditions of the youth centers of Lanjik, Panik and Mets Sepasar” a youth center was opened in the village of Lanjik , Ani community of the Shirak region in 2022 November 22.

It should be noted that within the framework of the program, the youth centers of the above-mentioned villages were equipped with the necessary furniture and modern computers, printers, projectors.As a result of the program, young people from villages will have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and opportunities in accordance with the current needs and requirements of the country,

Tackling educational disadvantage in rural Armenia through arts

Goal: Contribute to the socialization of children aged from 10 to 15 years and overcoming of traumas of though aesthetic education and art-therapy

The experience of Armenian Caritas in this sector shows that although officially people can access primary healthcare services funded by the state, still the essential health care needs remain unmet and a big group of vulnerable people, including children and the elderly, get deprived of elementary medical services.
