Summar School in Rural Communities of Armenia

Location: Bayandur, Yerazgavors and Getk villages (Shirak region)

Number of beneficiaries: 130

Target group: children aged from 6 to 16 years

 

Goal: The project aims to enhance the socialization and educational development of children aged 6 to 16 in border communities through drawing, pottery, game-based activities, and English-speaking and dance clubs.

 

Overall objectives:

  • Provision of access to aesthetic education for children aged 6 to 16
  • Improvment of English communication skills for 12- to 16-year-olds
  • Increasement of the level of self-awareness and emotional literacy among children aged 6 to 16

 

Transforming Institutions – Professionalizing Alternative Care in Armenia

Project Duration:   March 2026-March 2028

Primary Beneficiaries:

  • Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA )
  • 25 specialists multidisciplinary teams trained
  • 830 children and 18+ adults assessed by the multidisciplinary teams
  • 12 children living in Sabine SGHs6
  • Total: 867 direct beneficiaries.

Secondary Beneficiaries (indirect):

  • Families and communities that benefit from better care practices.
  • Children, elderly people, people with disabilities, living in other family type small group homes in Armenia. (~250)

Location:

FemCare: Accessible Healthcare Services and Education for Women.

Project Duration:  April, 2026

Program Participants:  50 pregnant women within the comprehensive program, run by the Primary Health Care Center of Armenian Caritas and 250 pregnant women within the psychological consultations at 6 polyclinics of Gyumri.

Location: Gyumri

Goal: To improve the health and well-being of women in Shirak region, with a focus on enhancing access to comprehensive, high-quality and free maternity education to support pregnant women.

  1. Participation in Maternity School and Education on Maternal Health
  2. Psychological Physical Preparedness for Childbirth
  3. Knowledge Sharing among Healthcare Providers

 

DELEGATION OF THE GERMAN CATHOLIC BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE VISITS ARMENIA

From June 8 to 12, 2026, a delegation of the Charity Commission of the German Catholic Bishops’ Conference paid an official visit to Armenia. The delegation was headed by Archbishop Stephan Burger of Freiburg, Chairman of the Commission. Among the delegates were Archbishop Herwig Gössl of Bamberg, Vice Chairman of the Commission; Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Christian Würtz of the Archdiocese of Freiburg; Eva Maria Welskop-Deffaa, President of Caritas Germany; as well as experts in social affairs, academics, and representatives of the Catholic Church in Germany and Caritas Germany. The purpose of the visit was to gain first-hand insight into the implementation and impact of programs carried out by Armenian Caritas with the financial support of the German Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

Women and Children’s Resource Center in Vardenis: Building a Resilient Future

Project duration: 01.02.2026 – 31.01.2028

Project location: Republic of Armenia, Gegharkunik region, Vardenis community

Beneficiaries:

  • 60 women (local and displaced from vulnerable groups)
  • 80 children (aged 6–14)
  • 70 teenagers and youth (aged 13–19)

Project goal: Vulnerable women and children in the Vardenis community are empowered to stabilize their emotional and economic situation and to build their coping skills.
