Rapid Response to 557 displaced HHs in Gegharkunik region

Number of Beneficiaries: 557 families/ 2228 persons

Location: Gegharkunik region

 

Goal: Enhance the well-being of displaced households by addressing their essential needs for food and hygiene, and supporting their mental health through psycho-social assistance.

Description: 557 forcibly displaced families established in Gegharkunik region will be provided with necessary food and hygiene packages, necessary referrals will be made and psychological support will be provided.

EU4Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Armenian Communities

The Project is part of the EU Action EU4Energy Efficiency and Environment and of the “Management of natural resources and safeguarding of ecosystem services for sustainable rural development in the South Caucasus” (ECOserve) programme, which is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

 

Project objective: Communities and households have better access to energy efficiency and sustainable energy solutions, thereby contributing to the improved energy security of the rural population and the conservation of natural resources.

The project contributes to the overall objective of the EU Action,

“My Right. Next Level. Inclusive Education in Armenia and Kosovo” project

Location: Shirak Region

 

Overall objective: Contribute to inclusive and equitable quality education for children with disabilities and their parents in Kosovo (Prizren, South Kosovo) and Armenia (Shirak Region), in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 4, 5 and 10, Art 28 and Art 23 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, and Art 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

 

Project outputs:

Output 1- 80 CWD (Children with disabilities) are encouraged to realize their rights and be active parts of their schools

Project name – Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Communities of Shirak Marz, Armenia – PRE/GIZ

Armenian Caritas Benevolent NGO, within the framework of the “EU4Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Armenian Communities” project, co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as a part of the “ECOserve” program, is starting a new initiative “Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Communities of Shirak Marz, Armenia”.

 

Within the framework of the “Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Communities of Shirak Marz,

Armenian Caritas in response 05.10.2023

Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against Nagorno-Karabakh from September 19, targeting civilian infrastructure and civilians. Civilians were also killed and injured. On September 20, the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities accepted the proposal of the command of the Russian peacekeeping mission regarding the cessation of fire. On September 21, the representatives of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan met in Evlakh. On September 25, the second meeting of the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan took place in Ivanyan (Khojalu), and on September 29, the third meeting took place in Evlakh.

In recent days, citizens forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh are being moved to Armenia.

“My Right. Next Level” project was announced

During September, a roundtable discussion/kick-off meeting was held within the project “My Right. Next Level. Inclusive Education in Armenia and Kosovo” funded by the Austrian Development Agency and Caritas Austria. The aim of the roundtable discussion was the presentation of the results of the previous project on inclusive education at 6 target schools and 6 target kindergartens of the Shirak Region as well as the presentation on the new “My Right. Next Level” project and signing of Memorandums of Understanding.

Reducing carbon-based emissions and providing support to the running of 7 social centers in Shirak and Lori Provinces of Armenia

Project Target Groups

The project’s main target group representatives are mostly the beneficiaries of ongoing projects of Armenian Caritas.

  •  Elderly people living alone
  • Children without parental care
  • Socially vulnerable people with health problems
  • Children and adolescents living in critical circumstances
  •  Community members living in non-gasified communities.

Project Goal: The goal of the Project is to reduce carbon-based emissions in Shirak and Lori Provinces of Armenia through solar energy use and energy efficiency comprehensive measures.

Disability Inclusive Gender Analysis Study Results Presentation

In the frames of the “Institutionalization of Voluntary First Response Service in the Republic of Armenia “(VolFiRe)” program, implemented by the Armenian Red Cross Society, within the “Inclusion and Gender Analysis of Persons with Disabilities” component, carried out by Armenian Caritas, on July 13th the presentation of the results of the “Inclusion and Gender Analysis of Persons with Disabilities” was held.

 

The purpose of the analysis is to create an information framework to support project implementation, emphasizing gender and disability aspects such as inclusion and equality. The event was organized by Armenian Caritas, which implements the component.

Tackling educational disadvantage in rural Armenia through arts

Location: Bayandur and Yerazgavors villages (Shirak region)

Target group: children aged from 8 to 15 years

 

Goal: Facilitate the socialization of children aged 8 to 15 years and aid in the healing of traumas through aesthetic education and art therapy.

 

Overall objectives:

  • To ensure the accessibility of aesthetic education and art-therapy in project target locations for children aged from 8 to 15 years
  • To create inclusive environment
  • To provide an opportunity to visit cultural centers

 

Partnership for Syunik-Enhanced Community-based Social Services

Project Duration: 01.02.2023 – 30.06.2026

Location: Syunik province of RA

Project Purpose: Contribution to development of more resilient system of social protection in Syunik province, by supporting sustainable financing of community-based social services that better serve the needs of the country’s most vulnerable people, thus reducing poverty, inequality, and vulnerability.

 

Project Description: Aimed at sectoral reforms, the “Partnership for Syunik-Enhanced Community-based Social Services” project closely cooperates with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, all 7 municipal governments of Syunik province,
