A letter of thanks to Zvart Najarian -founder, consultant and board member of Armenian Caritas

The mayor of Gyumri, Vardges Samsonyan recognized Zvart Najarian, founder, consultant and board member of “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO as a key contributor to the community. Among the guests at the reception were the director of “Armenian Caritas” NGO, Gagik Tarasyan, head of programs, Anahit Gevorgyan, and public relations officer Armenuhi Mkhoyan.

In his speech,Vardges Samsonyan welcomed the guests to Gyumri, then highlighted the activities of “Armenian Caritas” NGO and various social programs in Gyumri which are aimed at improving the social condition of hundreds of individuals/families and supporting community development.

Project implementation area:  Armenia- Syunik, Goris: Mainly in the borderline areas of Tegh, Kornidzor, Aravus, Khnatsakh, Vaghatur, Khoznavar

Direct beneficiaries: IDPs/Refugees and the Host communities (150 HHs)

Number of beneficiaries: 150 HHs

Project goal: Social and economic self-reliance of war-affected households was recovered.

Partners: Caritas Germany, Aid to the Church in Need

Background:

The number of citizens over 65 years is increasing in Armenia like in many countries in the world. The needs of elderly people are more varied than before. Their care is an important issue not only for economic reasons, but also because of citizens’ universal rights.
