A. and his caregivers, his mother and a close relative, started using the professional services offered by the rehabilitation room of the Amasia community preschool in February.Although during the first visits the child, his mother and the accompanying relative were afraid and anxious, but the series of professional interventions of the rehabilitation room psychologist, music therapist, art therapist, speech therapist gave confidence to the effectiveness of the services provided, activate the child’s perception, focus, analytical thinking. Strengthen parent-child relationships and support the development of parenting skills through counseling.
Due to the ergotherapeute services located in the community health center, A.’s needs were assessed according to the WHO ICF methodology, and training activities were carried out to train, focus and maintain attention.
Although the epidemic prevented A. from providing ongoing face-to-face rehabilitation intervention to his family, the distance-based professional intervention was mostly advisory in nature, aimed at obtaining A.’s legal status of disability.
