Tackling educational disadvantage in rural Armenia through arts

Location: Bayandur and Yerazgavors villages (Shirak region)

Number of beneficiaries: 100

Target group: children aged from 10 to 15 years

Goal: Contribute to the socialization of children aged from 10 to 15 years and overcoming of traumas of though aesthetic education and art-therapy

Overall objectives:

  • To ensure the accessibility of aesthetic education and art-therapy in project target locations for children aged from 10 to 15 years
  • Creation of an inclusive environment
  • To provide an opportunity to visit cultural centers

“Primary Health Care Center of Armenian Caritas in Gyumri – Support for 01/2020 – 12/2022”

 

  1. Background and description of the project

The experience of Armenian Caritas in this sector shows that although officially people can access primary healthcare services funded by the state, still the essential health care needs remain unmet and a big group of vulnerable people, including children and the elderly, get deprived of elementary medical services.

The mayor of Gyumri, Vardges Samsonyan recognized Zvart Najarian, founder, consultant and board member of “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO as a key contributor to the community. Among the guests at the reception were the director of “Armenian Caritas” NGO, Gagik Tarasyan, head of programs, Anahit Gevorgyan, and public relations officer Armenuhi Mkhoyan.

In his speech,Vardges Samsonyan welcomed the guests to Gyumri, then highlighted the activities of “Armenian Caritas” NGO and various social programs in Gyumri which are aimed at improving the social condition of hundreds of individuals/families and supporting community development.

Number of beneficiaries: 30 HHs/180 persons

Project goal: Provision of shelter and adequate living conditions for the displaced and bordering population.

Partners:  Klaster Innowacji Społecznych, Polish Foreign Ministry, “Polish Aid”

Project budget: Euro 180,000

Recovery Response to Conflict-affected Households in Syunik

Project Duration: 01/04/2022 – 01/07/2023

Project implementation area:  Armenia- Syunik, Goris: Mainly in the borderline areas of Tegh, Kornidzor, Aravus, Khnatsakh, Vaghatur, Khoznavar

Direct beneficiaries: IDPs/Refugees and the Host communities (150 HHs)

Number of beneficiaries: 150 HHs

Project goal: Social and economic self-reliance of war-affected households was recovered.

Partners: Caritas Germany, Aid to the Church in Need

Project budget: Euro 178,000.00
