Overall objective: Contribution to an inclusive and equitable quality education for all, in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal 4, Art 28 and Art 23 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, and Art 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Project Description:  

Project results

  • Individual Support: 80 CWD (Children with disabilities) in Armenia and 70 CWD in Kosovo have received individual support to fully enjoy their right to education.
  • Knowledge and Inclusive Practice: Staff of educational institutions and other stakeholders (parents, professionals) have gained knowledge on inclusive school settings and are ready to put it into practice.
  • Inclusive Cultures: Preschools and schools provided an inclusive learning environment for all children.
  • Inclusive Practices: Awareness on Inclusive education and the rights of CWD is raised .

Project Activities

  • Support smooth transition to school by twinning selected kindergartens with schools.
  • To develop an individual transition plan for each child.
  • Continue the support of the CWD in targeted 6 schools (80 CWD) and newly identified CWD through social work and individual support (assistive devices).
  • Capacity building for teachers, MDT members and educators of kindergartens to work with CWD.
  • Peer to Peer Learning activities in / between schools.
  • Capacity building for Policlinics’ pediatricians and parents on the importance and promotion of early childhood education for CWD.
  • Capacity building for Policlinics pediatricians and parents on the importance and promotion of early childhood education for CWD.
  • Promotion of International Index for Inclusion tool in targeted schools and kindergartens.
  • To implement and monitor peer-to-peer education on Inclusion among pupils.
  • To establish youth/students clubs to develop a culture of dialogue on the topic of Inclusion.
  • To support the establishment and maintenance of Parents Self Support groups in targeted educational institutions.
