The Caritas Europa delegation’s visit to Armenia

Caritas Europa President Msgr Michael Landau, CE ExBo member Alistair Dutton, and Humanitarian Officer CE Charel Krieps arrived in Yerevan on the 2nd of August as part of their trip to Armenia to learn more about Caritas operations in the country and how they are assisting displaced and another conflict-affected family. Always by the side of the needy

Caritas Armenia, with the support of CRS (Catholic Relief Services) and USAID (United States Agency for International Development), launched the “Immediate Assistance to displaced families of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict” in Ararat region. In parallel with this difficult situation, we tried to implement the program to the best of our ability.  We are pleased to announce that from November 9 to December 8 (which is only including the distribution process), in 34 communities of the Ararat region, have completed the provision of our kits consisting of hygiene items, warm blankets, and, as needed, baby and adult diapers.

Armenian Caritas in action during COVID-19

During this period when doctors have been at the forefront fighting to manage the pandemic, while the rest of the population must quarantine, many difficulties arise and need to be managed collectively – at this moment, Armenia Caritas sees itself in the role of promoting actions to mitigate this situation. As soon as the state of emergency was declared, Armenia Caritas began its work in assisting the community in various sectors. Living Side By Side

In November 2019 “Armenian Caritas” BNGO launched the project “Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education for all in Armenia”. One of the goals of the project is to change the attitude of students of the colleges and Universities of Shirak region and use their potential as multipliers in the process of fast and smooth transition to inclusive education. During COVID-19 pandemic when the majority of the population, no matter of their age and social status, are lockdown, they dream just to walk in the streets having “limited capacities”. Below we present the thoughts of the students of our partner educational institutions regarding limited capacities.
