The Social Integration NGO Forum Kicked Off in Armenia

The Social Integration NGO Forum officially kicked off in Armenia, hosting representatives from civil society organizations operating in the country. The forum presented its core ideas, principles, behavioral norms, functions, and collaboration formats.

 

The forum was established by 11 NGOs in response to the urgent social issues that emerged after the displacement of people from Artsakh. In response to the critical needs of thousands of individuals and families who were faced with life-threatening problems due to the displacement, the need for solutions to integration issues and the development of systemic approaches became the cornerstone of this initiative.

Fostering Sustainable Livelihoods, Business Growth, and Employment Opportunities for Displaced and Host Communities

Project Duration: November 2024 – November 2027

Number of Beneficiaries: 1545 direct beneficiaries and 6180 indirect beneficiaries

Location:

  • Nationwide: Business support (implementing by Iris Business Incubator and Impact Hub Armenia
  • Ararat, Gegharkunik & Yerevan (incl. surrounding areas): NEXUS activities (housing, employment, socialization)(implementing by Armenian Caritas)

Goal: To enhance social cohesion and economic integration of

refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh and host communities

Summer School in Rural Communities of Armenia

Project duration : 01.07.2025 – ongoing

Location: Bayandur, Yerazgavors and Getk villages (Shirak region)

Number of beneficiaries: 150

Target group: children aged from 6 to 16 years

 

Goal: The project aims to enhance the socialization and educational development of children aged 6 to 16 in border communities through aesthetic education, art therapy an English communication club.

 

Overall objectives:

  • Provision of access to aesthetic education for children aged 6 to 16
  • Improvment of English communication skills for 12- to 16-year-olds
  • Increasement of the level of self-awareness and emotional literacy among children aged 6 to 16

 

Summer Camp Hungary

Project Duration:  May-August, 2025

Program Participants:  140 Person à100 Children + 40 Adults accompanying children during the camp and travel

Location: Armenia, Hungary

Goal: To establish a cross-border camping program, leveraging the Elizabeth Camps to enhance equal opportunities for children from Armenia. This program will ensure meaningful and productive use of the free time for kids and will contribute to strengthening the cultural relations.

 

Outputs:

  1. Orientation meetings with parents and supervisors is organized in 6 communities of Kotayk Province
  2. The lists of children and supervisors is finalized and paperwork is completed
  3. Visa administration for all participants is accomplished.

ACTS-Advancing Caritas Through Solidarity

Project Duration:  2024 – 2025

Program Participants:  Governance and executive leaderships, management teams, overall Consortium Partner Organizations.

Consortium Partners: Caritas Georgia, Caritas Latvia

Goal: To improve HR management policies and mechanisms for staff empowerment and enhanced motivation.

 

Results:

Result 1: HR management policy and mechanisms are developed and adopted.

Result 2: Trauma Stewardship and staff care mechanisms are developed and set-up.

Result 3: Capitalization and piloting of Caritas expertise in different fields.

 

FemCare: Accessible Healthcare Services and Education for Women.

Project Duration:  April-December, 2025

Program Participants:  40 pregnant women within the comprehensive program, run by the Primary Health Care Center of Armenian Caritas and 150 pregnant women within the psychological consultations at 6 polyclinics of Gyumri.

Location: Gyumri

 

Goal: To improve the health and well-being of women in Shirak region, with a focus on enhancing access to comprehensive, high-quality and free maternity education to support pregnant women.

 

Outputs:

  1. Participation in Maternity School and Education on Maternal Health
  2. Psychological Physical Preparedness for Childbirth
  3. Knowledge Sharing among Healthcare Providers

Technical Expert – Facilitation of participatory review process in Armenia

Caritas Austria is an international NGO implementing activities in the fields of emergency relief and rehabilitation as well as development cooperation, in countries struck by conflicts or natural disasters. Caritas Austria has carried out and supported several projects focusing in particular on vulnerable people like children with disabilities.

 

Caritas Austria is looking for a local review expert with strong facilitation skills for the ADA funded project “My Right. Next Level. Inclusive Education in Armenia and Kosovo”, executed by Caritas Austria, and implemented by Armenian Caritas and Caritas Kosova.

Social Housing Pilot Project  

Project Duration: 01.02.2025 – 30.09.2027
Number of Beneficiaries: 80 individuals / 22 families
Target Groups: Forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh
Location: Artashat community, Ararat province

 

Objective:
To pilot a non-commercial social housing model in the Republic of Armenia. To ensure decent housing conditions for the population forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh by applying a similar model used in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Goals:

  1. Establish a precedent for a non-profit social housing fund in Armenia in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Artashat community.

Sustainable solutions for food security in Armenia

Project duration: 01.02.2025-31.01.2027

Location: Shirak Region

Overall objective: Enhanced food security for 255 families and their children in Shirak region through the provision of nutritious meals, sustainable food cultivation, and effective meal and financial planning.

 

Project outputs:

Output 1-  Healthy food provision Children in kindergartens have access to healthy nutrition through the provision of balanced meals and snacks that meet dietary requirements. (SDG 2: contribution to sub-targets 2.1. and 2.2.)
