All the activities that Armenian Caritas has initiated so far have been realized thanks to the financial, moral and collaborative assistance of our partners. “Armenian Caritas” Benevolent NGO organized an “Advocacy forum of the organizations dealing with children’s issues in the RA” in the city of Dilijan on February 21-22. The Forum aimed to bring together about 25 officials of the organizations implementing advocacy in the field of social protection of children in order to present and exchange the best practices in child rights protection processes. During the forum, the approaches of the UN Children’s Fund, World Vision Armenia, Child Protection Network, “Oxfam” Office in Armenia, OxYGen Fund, Maternal and Child Health Alliance and “Armenian Caritas” on advocacy implementation were presented by reports. Group presentations gave a chance to the participants to get acquainted with the approaches and organizational resources of “Save the Children International”
Warm Winter for Children
Project Duration: 01.10.2016 – 31.01.2017
Number of Beneficiaries: 519
Location: Gyumri, Gavar, Tashir and Vanadzor
Goal: To contribute to the improvement of heating conditions and prevention of cold-driven diseases of socially vulnerable families in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Tashir and Gavar (519 children in 178 families).
Varduhi was born in 1985 and grew in a family of craftsman. There were 2 children in their family – Varduhi and her sister. They both graduated the school with honors. Varduhi entered Gyumri Engineering College, programming department.
Then Varduhi started working at Gyumri school #21 and in a year she got married.
In 2007 Varduhi’s twins were born – Anna and Teresa. One of the twins Teresa had a hypoxia so was kept in special conditions for several days.
Warm Winter 2020 .Respectable Life for Vulnerable families and Elderly
Project Duration: December 1, 2019– April 30, 2020.
Number of Beneficiaries: 1180
Direct beneficiaries of the program are the lonely and disabled elderly that are included in other projects of Armenian Caritas. Among those
140 elderly people are from AC “Home Care for the Elderly” project in Gyumri
60 elderly people from Day Care Center Project in Gyumri:
200 elderly from SDC (Supplementary Project to Day Care Center);
100 lonely elderly from “Home Care for the Elderly” in Vanadzor,
