“Armenian Caritas” Benevolent NGO organized an “Advocacy forum of the organizations dealing with children’s issues in the RA” in the city of Dilijan on February 21-22. The Forum aimed to bring together about 25 officials of the organizations implementing advocacy in the field of social protection of children in order to present and exchange the best practices in child rights protection processes. During the forum, the approaches of the UN Children’s Fund, World Vision Armenia, Child Protection Network, “Oxfam” Office in Armenia, OxYGen Fund, Maternal and Child Health Alliance and “Armenian Caritas” on advocacy implementation were presented by reports. Group presentations gave a chance to the participants to get acquainted with the approaches and organizational resources of “Save the Children International” Armenian Representative Office, Child Development Foundation, Children of Armenia Fund, “Family and Community” NGO, FAR Children Support Center, Armenian Association of Social Workers, “Social Justice” NGO, “Bridge of Hope” NGO, “Orran” Benevolent NGO, “Shogh” Day Care Centers and “Armavir Development Center” NGO. The forum participants had active and substantive discussions on state delegation of services provided to children, common approaches and standards for the provision of services, unloading process of orphanages and boarding schools in the RA, the draft law on domestic violence, field public policy for children, sectoral reforms and other issues of current importance. The necessity of the implementation of joint actions in advocacy and the important role of the Child Protection Network Collaborative Platform were emphasized. The child advocacy issues, which require urgent solutions, were discussed. It was suggested to bring the identified problems and the organizations’ visions of solutions into the “Child protection network” working agenda.
