Location: Shirak province, Armenia

Overall objective:

The goal of the project is to support schools to establish necessary conditions for the inclusion of children with disabilities.

For this purpose, based on the Index Tool, school needs will be revealed and school development plans based on their priorities will be elaborated which will lead the schools to the creation of a barrier free inclusive environment for the education of disabled children.

Sustainable development of Rural Communities in Northern Armenia

Project duration: 01.04.2017 – 31.03.2020

Number of Beneficiaries: 2010 households, 8950 people

Location: Shirak, Voskehask, Vahramaberd, Jrapi, Jajur, Arapi communities

Project goal: The goal of this project is to promote the sustainability and viability of 6 communities in the region of Shirak by offering technical and strategic support to community residents in determining their own development path.

Activities: The three pillars of this project are:

  1. Constructing/reconstructing agricultural infrastructure (irrigation canals/drinking water pipelines) by engaging and involving the community
  2. Facilitating economic development through
  • professional training on the correct irrigation technology
  • introduction of new crops for the backyard garden (mostly vegetables) and the cultivated fields
  • setting up of pilot fields and farms.

Number of Beneficiaries: 1573 persons, 454 families

Target groups:

The most vulnerable 454 Syrian-Armenian families (approximately 1573 refugees) are beneficiaries of the project. They are part of the following vulnerable groups:

  • Single-mother families
  • Multi-children families
  • Families with disabled persons
  • Families with members who are having chronic diseases․

Target group: pupils, teachers and community residents

Location: Shirak, Lori and Gegharkunik Provinces

Goal: To raise awareness on migration and trafficking.

Objectives:

  1. Organize training sessions and campaigns for Shirak, Lori and Gegharkunik provinces’ community residents and pupils or students on migration and human trafficking (human exploitation).
  2. Build capacities of three partner NGOs in three target regions.
