Local level needs assessment in 13 communities
Project Duration: 01.06.2016 – 31.03.2017
Number of Beneficiaries: It’s a Need Assessment, interviews with questionnaire. Beneficiaries can be considered 4 provinces (Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik and Ararat). This is for the future projects.
Location: Shirak province – 6 villages, Lori province – 3 villages, Gegharkunik province – 3 villages and Ararat province.
Background: A needs assessment is a systematic process for determining and addressing needs, or “gaps” between current conditions and desired conditions or “wants”. The discrepancy between the current condition and wanted condition must be measured to appropriately identify the need.
July 13 was a very memorable and heart-touching day for “Armenian Caritas.” It was a day when “Armenian Caritas” received Mr. Norbert Mathis and Mr. Martin Hagleitner Huber, the Head of Department of Caritas Austria to honor one of its most dedicated and devoted friends, a volunteer from Caritas Austria, Mr. Norbert Mathis whose decades-long friendship planted seeds of faith in all “Armenian Caritas” projects and beyond. As the Executive Director of “Armenian Caritas” Gagik Tarasyan mentioned “all these years have been symbolizing not only a response to the needs presented, but a heartfelt initiative to change the lives of people.” Mr.
Armine Nazaryan has been selected as our Volunteer of the Month for June, 2017! Armine has been volunteering in “Armenian Caritas” Day Care Center for the Elderly /Tashir since 2011. “I spend 4 hours of my day on volunteering with elderly people and keep on thinking about them even being out of the office. When I enter the office and see their smiles and expectant looks for cutting one’s hair, helping the other to bathe, I feel that they need my help and I can have my small input on easing their problems”.
