Location: 15 settlements of Sarapat consolidated community of Shirak province of the Republic of Armenia: Arpeni, Bashgyugh, Dzorashen, Goghovit, Hartashen, Hoghmik, Kaqavasar, Lernagyugh, Musayelyan, Pokr Sariar, Salut, Sarapat, Torosgyugh, Tsoghamarg, Vardaghbyur.

Goal:

The overall goal of the project is the promotion of participatory and transparent self-governing mechanisms in the consolidated community through the use of innovative technological solutions, as well as experimenting with innovative technologies to ensure wider participation of stakeholders in decision-making processes of consolidated communities.

1.     Background

Armenian Caritas BNGO has a long standing support from Caritas Austria/Diocese of Feldkirch in various fields of social and economic development. Since the beginning of this partnership both organisations have placed a particular focus on providing services for people with disabilities and promoting their inclusion in the Armenian society.

Funded by Caritas Austria both organizations established of Emili Aregak Center which provides services for people with disabilities living in Gyumri. The Center was set up in 2008 with a primary focus of developing children’s physical and mental abilities in order to improve their social and life skills and prepare them to lead independent lives.

Ecologically clean pillows in “Little Prince”

Within the framework of Promotion of Volunteer Structure and Volunteerism in Eastern European Countries project Armenian Caritas in cooperation with Armenian Tree Project has been carrying out an ecological micro-project since December of last year. Within the frames of this micro-project, volunteers and Gyumri Little Prince Social Centre children with the couching of the experts of Armenian Tree Project created an organic compost facility to get nutrient-rich compost from the remnants of food, made a seat from plastic bottles, a table, benches and chairs from pallets and Christmas tree and a snowman from tires. On the 16th of January the same group of people came together to make mattresses for the benches made by them.

“Sabine” small group house received co-financing from the Government

1“Armenian Caritas” has received co-financing as a result of the Armenian Government-Armenian Caritas cooperation.
Highlighting the program implemented by “Armenian Caritas” Benevolent NGO in Lori region, and services provided by “Sabine” small group house, in 2019 the Armenian Caritas included the “Family, Women and Children Support” expenditure program. 7,818.8 thousand drams were allocated within the framework of the “Services for care of children left without parental care”.
The administration of “Armenian Caritas” expresses its deep gratitude to the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and first deputy minister Arsen Manukyan for supporting this crucial program.
