Project Description
“I am no longer alone; I am surrounded by kind people like you. You have taken up all my burdens and covered all my needs. You have warmed up not only our homes but our souls too. Thank you. ” (Dustumyan Imast, Vanadzor)
“Warm Winter” is a social project that Armenian Caritas has implemented in three regional areas of Armenia – Shirak, Lori and Gegharkunik Regions. Armenian Caritas’ goal is to help the beneficiaries to survive during the severe winter times.
During the winters of 2013 and 2014, the “Warm Winter” project has covered the heating expenses of about 690 lonely, elderly living in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Tashir and Gavar cities by paying their electric or gas bills. The project resulted in reducing the risk of frequent illness among our beneficiaries caused by inadequately heated homes.
Project is funded by Caritas Austria, US Catholic Bishops Conference, CNEVA
Financial support for this project is provided by the municipalities of Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar and Tashir.
