On April 1-5, 2016 large-scale ceasefire violations took place along the Line of Contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone which caused need of humanitarian support to the population being affected. “Armenian Caritas” (AC) with the support of “Caritas Italiana” to reduce the harm of emergency responded to the humanitarian needs in Nagorno-Karabakh, delivering boxes of food commodities to the humanitarian aid coordination body in Stepanakert.
On April 1-5, 2016 large-scale ceasefire violations took place along the Line of Contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone which caused need of humanitarian support to the population being affected. “Armenian Caritas” (AC) with the support of “Caritas Italiana” to reduce the harm of emergency responded to the humanitarian needs in Nagorno-Karabakh, delivering boxes of food commodities to the humanitarian aid coordination body in Stepanakert.
The 5 AC delegates onboard organized the transportation and delivery of the humanitarian aid to the coordination body. The general volume of the aid was 1.88 tones, with 200 boxes containing 13 food items, with 9.4kg each. The boxes were prepared and packed with the active participation of AC volunteers and staff members. The coordination body in Stepanakert was to organize further distribution of the boxes to the affected or displaced population according to their urgent needs and place of temporary settlement. AC will continue to observe the situation and trends of the possible developments to a rapid respond to the humanitarian needs of the affected population by actively collaborating and networking with the other stakeholders in the field.
