Caritas Armenia, with the support of CRS (Catholic Relief Services) and USAID (United States Agency for International Development), launched the “Immediate Assistance to displaced families of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict” in Ararat region.
In parallel with this difficult situation, we tried to implement the program to the best of our ability. We are pleased to announce that from November 9 to December 8 (which is only including the distribution process), in 34 communities of the Ararat region, have completed the provision of our kits consisting of hygiene items, warm blankets, and, as needed, baby and adult diapers.
In total, we, Armenian Caritas, with the support of CRS and USAID, have provided 1040 kits during this period, serving 884 families (3363 people).
We would also like to inform that all the Artsakh families in the selected communities have received support (according to the information provided by the municipality). In the process, if some displaced families were left out, we returned to the village and provided the packages.
We would like to deeply thank to all communities for effective and direct cooperation which. Every help they provided is included in the essential factors that contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
The total duration of the project lasted of two months, from October 14 to December 14.
The distribution was preceded by some preparatory work, such as need assessments in the communities via hearing directly from the displaced families about their own needs, meetings, discussions with community heads or representatives, and regional representation of the public administration system.
