Putting our Values into Practice: Code of Conduct for Caritas Internationalis member organizations’ Staff

This Code of Conduct specifies the attitudes and behaviour that all Caritas staff[1] are expected to maintain. The Code is derived from, and closely related to, the Caritas Code of Ethics which prescribes the basic values and institutional practices of Caritas organisations. “Individuals who care for those in need must first be professionally competent: they should be properly trained in what to do and how to do it, and committed to continuing care. Yet, while professional competence is a primary, fundamental requirement, it is not of itself sufficient. We are dealing with human beings, and human beings always need something more than technically proper care.

Diane Risopoulos

Diane Risopoulos is Board member of “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO. Diane has over 18 years of experience in the communication sector, having worked as campaign manager for various public relations and advertising agencies on the development and implementation of EU wide communication campaigns for EU institutions. In this capacity, she managed a network of 28 public relations and advertising companies involved in the implementation of the campaigns and was responsible for reporting the campaign’s results to the EU. She also worked on events’ management, media relations, fundraising and marketing for non-profit organisations such as the Half the Sky Foundation in China and Save the Children in Italy.

Mr. Jirayr Habibian

Mr. Habibian, a Masters graduate of St. Joseph’s University of Beirut, has been a member of the Lebanese Bar since 1996 and was admitted to the Armenian Bar in 2013. Fluent in Arabic, English, French and Armenian. Having trained with the law firm Farid Halim El Khoury, specialising in Banking and Corporate Law, he left the firm in 2000 as a Junior Partner to take up a senior position with Standard Chartered Bank where he succeeded in continually challenging roles for seven years. Initially appointed as Regional Head of Legal and Compliance (Levant), Mr. Habibian was later relocated to Dubai to lead the Financial Crime Risk division for the bank’s wholesale operations in the Middle East and Pakistan region and eventually became the Head of Legal and Compliance for a significant region within the Gulf and Levant.
