On April 12, within the framework of “Building Local Capacities to Reduce Irregular Migration and Trafficking” Project a discussion-training on migration took place at Gyumri secondary school No.8 with the participation of schoolchildren and some of the “Armenian Caritas” implementing partners. The meeting aimed at raising awareness on the opportunities and challenges of migration among schoolchildren. A hot discussion between the schoolchildren and the trainer started. One of the schoolchildren mentioned: “One of the widespread shortcomings of migration is the high risk of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and another one is brain drain.” Another student highlighted that migration might have also positive consequences,
Archbishop Raphael Minassian and CNEWA Programs’ Director Thomas M. Varghese and Communications Director Michael J.L. La Civita visited Artashat to get acquainted with the projects implementing here. First, they visited the Home Care office and met with the staff. With the staff they discussed the work they perform. To have a better idea on the projects they visited the beneficiaries, got acquainted with their problems and the work that is performed by the Home Care staff.

May 24 was a special day for “Armenian Caritas” as the finalist of Aurora prize 2017 Dr. Tom Catena and his colleagues honored the office by their presence. Dr. Catena practices and treats around 750,000 patients in the Mother of Mercy Hospital in Sudan. Patients frequently travel by foot for up to a week to reach him. Dr. Catena was born in New York City and received his medical degree from Duke University.
In 1990 Dr. Catena joined the Catholic Medical Mission Board which, by the way, was a generous supporter of “Armenian Caritas.” Before moving to Sudan, Dr.

Thus special treatment, care and medications are required and to be provided by geriatricians (aged care specialists), which lack in Armenia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. As a continuation of a free-of-charge 3-day training in the summer of 2016 for the AC nurses and for the Armenian care institutions and respective NGOs conducted by Victoria Kaprielian, MD, FAAFP Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Medical Education of Campbell University and her team, the June of 2017 became one more milestone in the development of geriatrics for “Armenian Caritas” Home Care project,

INTRODUCTION:
This ToR defines the requirements and deliverables of the film and 3 PSAs (public social advertising) that should be carried out in the framework of the project titled “Community Action for Full Inclusion in Education “, funded by European Union, Austrian Development Agency and Caritas Austria.
Armenian Caritas (AC) with partnership of “National Association of School Parent Council Members” NGO (NASPCM) implements a project “Community Action for Full Inclusion in Education”.
From now on, a youth center will founction in Gavar. The initiative was launched by the “Armenian Caritas” BNGO with the financial support of USAID and the Peace Corps, thanks to the efforts of Armenian Caritas and Peace Corps volunteer Caleb Barefield. By his initiative the center was repaired and technically replenished, which will serve not only the beneficiaries of the “Little Prince” center, but also other youth of the community. Now the project provides the children of the center with an opportunity to have trainings and meetings in a pleasant and repaired room. Due to the equipment purchased within the framework of the proյect,
Armenian Caritas is proud to announce that the project, “YouthSmartVillage”, has been selected as one of the semi-finalists and is looking forward to representing Armenia at such a prestigious competition. The project aims to establishment of demo-model of “smart village”, which will ensure employment and learning opportunities for youth, decentralization of IT sphere, improvements in spheres of local self-government and agriculture through the establishment of youth innovative technology laboratory in remote village of Armenia.
Competition was rather stiff, too, with only 30 projects selected to enter the next phase of the competition out of 731 eligible entries from 39 countries.
Since 2002 “ArmenianCaritas” has been providing a care to the older people promoting their well-being. To increase the social responsibility of local authorities and society and to promote specialized care, an attempt has been made to reintroduce geriatrics in modern Armenia.
It’s already the third time that Victoria Kaprielian, MD, FAAFP Associate Dean for Faculty Development and MedicalEducationCampbellUniversity Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine came to Armenia with her team.

Armenian Caritas’ OPO’s ARAMAZD: Within the framework of the “Community for Community Program” Vanadzor’s Arrajynt’ats’ NGO implements the project “Community-Based Socio-Economic Development through Poultry Farming Development”.
The goal is to promote socio-economic development of the Lejan and Agarak settlements in the Lori Fortress area of the Stepanavan district, located in the Lori region, through the introduction of poultry farming and sustainable income opportunities.
The beneficiaries of the project are 40 socially vulnerable families of each of the above mentioned settlements (80 families in total).
These families took part in trainings on the topic of cultivation and care of 1-2-day-old chicks.

On May 16, 17 and 21, children from the Drawing group of the Armenian Caritas Charitable Non-Governmental Organization’s “Little Prince” social center in Gyumri, participated in a group of ceramics organized by the Aslamazyan sisters’ gallery. The trainings were held in 3 rounds, on the first day, with acquaintance with children and their skills, on the second day the work process, and in the final, the final stage of the work. Gallery Guitar Guide Michael Vardaponian notes that this is also a field therapy. Lyova Varosyan, a child, was so interested in carpeting that he even thought to be specializing in the future and to become a carpenter,
