Location: Gyumri, Sepasar and Ghazanchi villages             

Goal: The goal of the project is providing improved nutrition for the pre-school children of two kindergartens (Gyumri  kindergartens #5 “Smile” and #11 “Liana”) and two kindergartens in Sepasar and Ghazanchi villages.

The experience of “Armenian Caritas” in this sector shows that although officially people can access primary healthcare services funded by the state, still the essential health care needs remain unmet and a big group of vulnerable people, including children and the elderly, get deprived of elementary medical services. In its PHC center Caritas serves around 3000 persons in 4500 visits per year. The clinic holds a license of the RA Ministry of Health (RA MH) that authorizes it to provide the following PHC services. Shant Demirjian is a Syrian-Armenian volunteer at “Armenian Caritas” Yerevan office and he is involved in the migration and trafficking related projects. Shant talks on the initiation and importance of volunteering in humanitarian sphere.

Shant left Kessab for Armenia, because of the civil war. The Armenian populated town of Kessab is situated in the North –Western part of Syria, in the Aleppo Region.
