A discussion-training on migration at Gyumri secondary school No.8

On April 12, within the framework of “Building Local Capacities to Reduce Irregular Migration and Trafficking” Project a discussion-training on migration took place at Gyumri secondary school No.8 with the participation of schoolchildren and some of the “Armenian Caritas” implementing partners. The meeting aimed at raising awareness on the opportunities and challenges of migration among schoolchildren. A hot discussion between the schoolchildren and the trainer started. Since the beginning of this partnership both organisations have placed a particular focus on providing services for people with disabilities and promoting their inclusion in the Armenian society.
For more than 19 years, Armenian Caritas BNGO has been serving community members and society by creating positive social change. Funded by Caritas Austria both organizations established of Emili Aregak Center which provides services for people with disabilities living in Gyumri. The Center was set up in 2008 with a primary focus of developing children’s physical and mental abilities in order to improve their social and life skills and prepare them to lead independent lives.

Number of Beneficiaries: 16 representatives of non-governmental organizations from Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Russia (Chechnya)

Target group: NGO representatives from RA Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak provinces and city of Yerevan, which have an experience in various projects on integration of refugees’ issues. Location: Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Russia (Chechnya)

Goal։ The goal of “Overcoming the consequences of war together” project is primarily aimed at supporting Ukrainian civil society in tackling the social conflicts resulting from the war in Eastern Ukraine.
