Becoming change initiators Learning Together we learn to live Together

Armenian Caritas organized a 3-day training in the cultural and warm atmosphere of «Machanents» Guesthouse from February 21 to 23 for those pupils who will become peer to peer educators spreading the values of inclusive education among their peers to build together more inclusive school and become the driving force for changes in their schools.

Under the guidance of their trainer Artashes Torozyan pupils got acquainted with the principles of inclusive education, their rights and responsibilities, learnt about the best example of inclusive school: the Finnish school. They acquired skills to conduct trainings, worked in groups and presented their suggestions.

Growing Healthy: balanced nutrition and improved development opportunities for children

Number of beneficiaries: 198 children and their families

 Recognizing the importance of  food security and healthy nutrition   in the growth and  development  of pre-school   age  children Armenian Caritas implements Growing Healthy Project in two preschool institutions in Gyumri / “Gyumru Mankik’’ and “Mush” Children Center/and two kindergartens in the villages of Ghazanchi and Sepasar. The Projects aims at improving food and nutrition security of children, enhancing capacities of preschool teaching staff and promoting parental involvement.

BACKGROUND:

Armenian Caritas (AC) is a non-governmental organization registered and operating in the Republic of Armenia. It carries out development programs in four regions of Armenia and in Yerevan, which combine service provision and advocacy work at the national level. The main strategic focus of AC is social protection and integration of disadvantaged children, inclusion of elderly people and children with disabilities, as well as community development and resilience, disaster risk management and migration and integration programming.

With the scope, impact and financing of programs in the country, AC ranks as one of the biggest social service providing organizations in the target regions that brings sustainable change in the lives of its beneficiaries.
