During September, a roundtable discussion/kick-off meeting was held within the project “My Right. Next Level. Inclusive Education in Armenia and Kosovo” funded by the Austrian Development Agency and Caritas Austria. The aim of the roundtable discussion was the presentation of the results of the previous project on inclusive education at 6 target schools and 6 target kindergartens of the Shirak Region as well as the presentation on the new “My Right. Next Level” project and signing of Memorandums of Understanding.
The event was attended by Mr. Klaus Kapper, the Head of the Yerevan Office of the Austrian Development Agency, and Elisabeth Haun, representative of Caritas Austria. Also in attendance were the headmasters and index team coordinators representing the project’s target schools and kindergartens. Project partner organizations working with people with disabilities were also present during the event in line with state representatives from Shirak Regional Administration and Gyumri Municipality.
Participants of the event had a chance to take part in the exhibition of the photos of target children with disabilities. The exhibition was aimed at presenting what real inclusion should look like. Participants were asked to name the photos as they imagined. Moreover, the project’s inclusive choir performed for the first time presenting the meaning of peace as a right of every child. During the roundtable discussion, the most important topics were also discussed
At the end of the roundtable discussion headmasters of the schools and kindergartens signed trilateral Memorandums of Understanding for the cooperation between twinned schools and kindergartens and Armenian Caritas. All stakeholders got Certificates of appreciation.
