The final exam and fashion show of nine students from the fifth group of the Armenian Caritas project “Handicraft Workshop for Women” took place on October 29, 2010. During the event there were shown the students’ handicraft works, which were made during the last months of study.
The final exam and fashion show of nine students from the fifth group of the Armenian Caritas project “Handicraft Workshop for Women” took place on October 29, 2010. During the event there were shown the students’ handicraft works, which were made during the last months of study.
The finalists of the project did well in their exams getting excellent grades and qualification of a tailor. The members of the examination committee were Aida Khachatryan, Sveta Kurghinyan, Lusine Movsisyan and Margarit Atoyan.
After the exam a fashion show with handicraft works was held, which amazed invited people with its colors, variety of styles and trendiness. At the end of the show the executive director of Armenian Caritas Anahit Mkhoyan and project manager Anna Yeghoyan handed the diplomas and thanked the project teacher Nelli Minasyan. They also informed students, that Armenian Caritas would give each of them one model from their own works.
The project has been carried out since 2007. The aim of the project was to include women who are in need and want to have a new profession in the learning process, so that they could support their families. The project greatly influenced on the self establishment as well as aesthetic taste of the project students. For women included in the project the center became a place where they could communicate, discuss different topics and exchange their life skills.
“Handicraft Workshop for Women” is carried out free of charge, and materials used are provided by Armenian Caritas. The learning process lasted 15 hours per week a year. In the center women also took crocheting and lace making classes.
