Growing Healthy: balanced nutrition and improved development opportunities for children

Location: Gyumri, Ghazanchi, Sepasar (Shirak Region) Duration: 01.02.2020-01.02.2023 Number of beneficiaries: 198 children and their families  Recognizing the importance of  food security and healthy nutrition   in the growth and  development  of pre-school   age  children Armenian Caritas implements Growing Healthy Project in two preschool institutions in Gyumri / “Gyumru Mankik’’ and “Mush” Children Center/and two kindergartens in the villages of Ghazanchi and Sepasar. The Projects aims at improving food and nutrition security of children, enhancing capacities of preschool teaching staff and promoting parental involvement.

Social Assistance to Vulnerable Families in 15 Catholic Villages, Gyumri, Tashir, Gavar and Artashat.

Project Duration : 8 Months Number of Beneficiaries: 500 vulnerable families(approximately 1500 people) Armenian Caritas will respond to the needs of 500 vulnerable families (about 1500 inhabitants) in 15 Catholic Villages, Gyumri, Gavar, Vanadzor and Artashat in Armenia Direct Beneficiaries of the Project are people mainly vulnerable families, people living alone in inhuman conditions frequently without elementary sanitary-hygienic commodities with only an extremely low pension allocated by the government that is very low to cover monthly consumption expenses. Improvement of Social Conditions of Single Mothers in Gyumri, Gavar, Vanadzor and Artashat.

Project Duration: 2022.01.03 – on going Number of Beneficiaries: 120 beneficiaries Location: Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar and Artashat Background:  The amount of monthly income of the Armenians is considerably lower than the supposed sum to fully suffice them to organize their lives in a normal way.  At present single mothers in Armenia cannot afford themselves to fully meet their basic needs to organize their daily routines. In general, social-economic situation of single mothers in Armenia during the past 25 years has not changed; just the contrary, it has taken a turn to the worse .Free of charge health care service is accessible only for those who are granted with special privileges.

Warm Winter. Today and Tomorrow

Project Duration: 01.02.2022 – 31.01-2024 Number of Beneficiaries:  300  families-700  children Location: Gyumri Background:   To prevent the reproduction of poverty the project proposes to introduce a multidimensional poverty reduction approach, which will ensure more prospective support to the young parents (10 parents from 20-30 years old per year), giving them chance to acquire job-related education and skills, thus ensuring small income for caring about essential family needs as well as to the younger age-group of the family (15 children from 16-20 years old per year) by covering their fee at the Educational Institutions.

Fund for integration of children and youth with disabilities

Project Duration: 01 July, 2019 – 31 October, 2022 Beneficiaries: 100 Children and youth with disability Location: Shirak Region Goal: Creating Opportunities for Education, Inclusion and Participation. Description :  The project specifically is designed to support: a) children and young people with disabilities so that they may achieve to their maximum level of learning outcomes participation in school and kindergarten activities and social life; b) the Institutions (kindergartens and schools) staff will be empowered to work with CWD.
