The National Strategy of the Republic of Armenia on Migration (2017-2021) was adopted on August 31, 2017 which was followed by the National Action Plan (2017-2021). The National Strategy of the Republic of Armenia on Migration (2017-2021) was adopted on August 31, 2017 which was followed by the National Action Plan (2017-2021). The strategy goes on with the priorities fixed in the last one, at the same time adding new directions. The National Action Plan (2017-2021) consists of 9 sections, which, in their turn, are subdivided into sub-sections. The first point refers to regular migration. This provision aims at improving regular migration processes including the improvement of visa mechanisms, assistance to the processes of the internationalization of education, etc. On the other hand migration and development has become a new strategic direction, which includes the assessment of the intellectual potential of highly qualified Armenian citizens residing abroad for the benefits of the RA. An important issue involved in the National Action Plan (2017-2021) is the further development of the migration management system, the objective of which is to define a methodology for data recruitment and a common statistics in the field of migration.
