“Promotion of Transparency and Civic Participation in Community by Innovative Mechanisms”

Project Duration: 12 months

Location: 15 settlements of Sarapat consolidated community of Shirak province of the Republic of Armenia: Arpeni, Bashgyugh, Dzorashen, Goghovit, Hartashen, Hoghmik, Kaqavasar, Lernagyugh, Musayelyan, Pokr Sariar, Salut, Sarapat, Torosgyugh, Tsoghamarg, Vardaghbyur.

Goal:

The overall goal of the project is the promotion of participatory and transparent self-governing mechanisms in the consolidated community through the use of innovative technological solutions, as well as experimenting with innovative technologies to ensure wider participation of stakeholders in decision-making processes of consolidated communities.

Objectives:

• To contribute to the social development through mobilizing civic participation, strengthening cooperation and empowerment of key stakeholders in Sarapat consolidated community.
• To establish and reinforce successful linkages among Civil Society Organizations, Local authorities, Ministries of RA and community population on behalf of youth welfare and community development.
• To clarify and define the format of the cooperation with the municipality by holding meetings with the key stakeholders.
• To sign memorandums with the Ministry of TAD, Shirak Regional Government (Shirak Marzpetaran) and Sarapat local Authorities.
• To develop the online “Community participation” demo-version system (CPS) software for transparent and public participation in the local self-government bodies.
• To form the representative working group in the community for the introduction and operation of the ” Community Participation” system (CPS).

• To hold capacity building activities (trainings, workshops) for the working group and community key stakeholders to improve their operational skills.

• To organize awareness raising meetings in targeted settlements for the presentation of online “Community participation” system (CPS).

• To organize the broadcast of the animation video and public discussion for presentation of results of exploitation of online “Community participation” system (CPS) by local TV with participation of local government, citizens of community and other stakeholders.
