Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator/Facilitator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of project activities regarding the food supply and healthy nutrition training programs. The role also includes coordinating gardening activities to promote sustainable food production in the Shirak Region
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination and Implementation:
• Organize planning, implementation, and evaluation of food supply, nutrition and gardening initiatives.
• Ensure effective collaboration with suppliers, community members and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain timelines and manage logistics for program activities.
• Maintain accurate records and submit progress reports on a monthly basis to the project manager on the
progress of project activities, including the completion of tasks, challenges faced, and any adjustments
made to timelines or resources.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, project standards and donor’s requirements.
• Provide recommendations for program improvements based on findings.
2. Coordination of Gardening and Food Supply Activities
Identify project communities in the Shirak Region and present the project to select 20 households based on pre-established criteria.
• Coordinate the training sessions for rural community members.
• Facilitate the selection process of suppliers based on quality and cost-effectiveness and organize the process of providing the participants with resources such as seeds, seedlings, tree saplings, and gardening tools to help them establish their own gardens.
• Coordinate with food suppliers to ensure timely and efficient distribution of food to the two kindergartens every week and monitor the delivery process to ensure food quality.
• Conduct bi-weekly visits to kindergartens to monitor food quality and implementation of nutritional activities.
• Document observations, gather feedback from staff and children, and report any challenges to the Project Manager
3. Training and Skill Development:
• Develop training content, materials, and schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager and experts.
• Organize training for two school and kindergarten cooks, as well as families, on nutrition, cooking, meal preparation, and financial planning.
• Empower and encourage participants to showcase their cooking skills while promoting healthy eating habits through participation in cooking vlogs.
• Organize and facilitate bi-annual events where children of schools and kindergartens showcase their understanding of healthy eating habits.
• Work with teachers and educators to prepare engaging presentations for children.
4. Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in project coordination, food program facilitation, and nutrition planning. Community-based projects are preferred.
• Knowledge of child nutrition, food safety standards, and gardening techniques.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English is a must.
