Description: The “Grandma’s Kitchen: Sharing Recipes, Sharing Memories” project, led by Armenian Caritas, aims to enhance the well-being of 200 elderly individuals in Gyumri and Vanadzor. The initiative addresses challenges in nutrition and loneliness, offering essential food support and fostering companionship for elderly citizens.
The project uniquely combines nutrition enhancement and social connection, offering nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements while fostering intergenerational interaction to reduce loneliness among the elderly. Additionally, the project includes a joint gathering of local and Artsakh elderly individuals to participate in a cooking master class and hospitality event, further promoting community bonding.
Project activities feature home visits by trained caregivers for food delivery and cooking sessions, creating opportunities for social interaction. The “Grandma’s Receipts” social media campaign showcases unique recipes and cooking experiences, celebrating the culinary skills of elderly participants and raising awareness about the importance of elderly care. Two intergenerational cooking workshops bring local youth and elderly citizens together, promoting cross-generational understanding and bonding.
