Humanitarian Support to Syrian Refugees

Start: 2013 November – 2015 July

Overall objective:

The project is aiming at supporting of 100 vulnerable Syrian refugee families, who have searched refuge in Armenia. It enables vulnerable Syrian-Armenian refugees (outside of hostels) to access secure and healthy living conditions and to ensure their safety and well-being.

Specific objectives:

To enable 100 vulnerable Syrian-Armenian refugee families (outside of hostels) to access secure and healthy living conditions in wintertime and to ensure their safety and well-being. Food, hygienic items, essential household items, clothes, medicine and house rent are the most priority needs to be addressed.

Target groups

The most vulnerable 100 Syrian-Armenian families (approximately 400 refugees) are beneficiaries of the project. They are part of the following vulnerable groups:

  • Single-mother families
  • Multi-children families
  • Families with disabled persons
  • Families with members who are having chronic diseases

Expected results

  • Vulnerable refugees from Syria live over winter 2013/14 in rented apartments assuring healthy and safety living.
    • Vulnerable refugees from Syria have over wintertime 2013/14 access to thermal clothing and food to ensure their dignity, health and well-being during the winter season.
    • 100 Syrian families (=400 persons) have been supported with apartment rent and utility payment (electricity, gas, water) for a period of about 6 months
    • 100 Syrian families have been supported with medicine, where necessary
    • 100 Syrian refugee families received thermal clothes and food vouchers and 
      • 100 families received hygienic Items or vouchers and

Activities

  • Provision of information on available flats and / or houses, house rental agencies, job vacancies, schools for the children, medical services, trainings, etc.
  • Providing legal consultations
  • Provision of social assistance to 100 refugee-families.
  • Provision of bank vouchers for house-rent and utility payments according to their payment receipt.
  • Provision of monthly vouchers for food, household and hygiene items to 100 families.
  • Provision of  winter clothes / the families will receive cash and return the bills / receipts/
