Migration and Development I II III

Number of Beneficiaries:
- Returnees from the EU: till now 484 persons, 218 families, till the end of 2019 will be accepted 70-80 RA citizens annually
- Young people from communities having high migration risks 565 potential migrants (retraining courses and job fairs’ participants)
- Awareness raising campaigns for population of high migration-risk communities and university students total 583 participants
- 60 returnees from EU, young entrepreneurs from communities having high migration risks and Syrian Armenians, provided 60 interest free loans
- Population of high migration-risk communities, total 9000 people and implemented 6 community development projects.
Location: Yerevan, all regions of Armenia
Overall objective:
- To contribute to the socio-economic reintegration of returnees from the EU/Switzerland, Norway and Liechtenstein
- To contribute to building community resilience and to decrease the level of emigration
- To increase awareness on the risks related to illegal migration and the options for safe migration.
Target groups:
- Voluntary and deported returnees from EU, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
- Potential migrants /students, young generation, unemployed population of RA/.
- Population from the high migration-risk communities.
- Communities which have returnees from EU.
- Public at large.
Activities:
1. To assist to the socio-economic (re)integration of returnees and migrants.
- Design of individual reintegration plans according returnees needs and Development of the internal regulations on the social assistance distribution
- Provision of tailor-made legal and social assistance to returnees from EU/EWR countries
- Provision of economic assistance to returnees and migrants (including refugees) by organization of trainings and involvement of experts to support recovery of non-successful start-ups
- Support to the improvement of returnees‟ and migrants‟ employment opportunities
- Provision of compatible employment opportunities to returnees and refugees
2. To contribute to building community resilience and to decrease the level of emigration.
- Provision of grants for community development cooperating with other actors in the field.
- Support to start-up initiatives of community members providing them interest free loans
- Support to the improvement of employment opportunities of potential migrants from high migration-risk communities via tailor-made vocational trainings
3.To increase awareness on the risks related to illegal migration and the options for safe migration.
- Organization of awareness raising sessions/seminars in schools, universities by sharing realistic information on challenges of illegal migration and opportunities of safe migration communities with high rate of migration
- Assistance to “Migration Mobile Resource center” project in cooperation with State Employment Agency and special experts to provide information on illegal migration in different regions and communities in Armenia.
- Awareness raising by supporting media representatives, by publishing booklets, leaflets, etc.
- Provide the project publicity and cooperation with various states, local and international organizations through designing and developing reintegration mechanisms.
- Provide participation in the state migration policy development and implementation.
