Location: Akhuryan consolidated (multi-settlement) community

Goal: Increase the capacity and resilience of Akhuryan consolidated community to lead its development․

 

The objectives of the project are:

  1. to strengthen capacity and commitment of Akhuryan community to lead their development through continuous learning, identifying and responding to local priorities;
  2. to enhance citizen engagement and oversight in decision making process of Akhuryan community through mobilizing settlements, equipping them with participatory decision-making and monitoring tools.

 

Description:

Project activities:

–   Establishing an “Local Leaders Team/Group”

–   Conducting community asset mapping involving local leaders and with the support of the local network

–   Establishing an “Academy of Local Workers” /ALW/capacity building

–   Establishing Locally-Led Development (LLD) Centers in the settlements

–   Piloting LLD models

–   Mobilizing community settlements to boost locally-led development

–   Promoting good governance through continuous public monitoring and oversight

 

Project results:

–   have skills and processes to conceptualize and operationalize sound community development vision and plans

–   are more resilient and have clear understanding how will further enhance their resilience.

–   have grown into one organic systems that can envision, and lead community development processes,

–   are able to secure the support they need through assets and networks that they cultivate.

–   Enhanced citizen participation and oversight in the decision making process is in place in Akhurian community

–   Enhanced transparency and responsiveness of Akhurian local government

–   Increased citizen trust and confidence in Akhurian local government

–   Increased agency, voice and ownership of the larger community in the decisions in Akhurian community
